A TRAGEDY IN UGANDA — 502 CHILDREN NEED OUR HELP!
Our goal: $5,000 to provide food and essential supplies.
Sometimes life delivers unimaginable hardships to those who are already struggling just to survive. Today, I am reaching out with an urgent appeal for a school and orphanage in Uganda that holds a very special place in my heart.
Journey Achieving Miracles (JAM) Children’s Center in Kalisiza, Uganda, is home to 502 orphaned and vulnerable children, many of whom have lost their parents to the AIDS epidemic.
Recently, Mark, the dedicated director of JAM, was riding his bicycle to a nearby village to purchase food and essential supplies for the children when tragedy struck.
Mark was hit by a vehicle and left critically injured on the side of the road. As if that weren’t devastating enough, he was also robbed of the money he was carrying to purchase food for the children.
After more than three weeks in intensive care, Mark has finally been released from the hospital. He faces a long and difficult recovery.
But while Mark struggles to heal, 502 children are facing another crisis. The money intended to feed them for the next three months is gone.
Imagine the heartbreak of dedicating your life to caring for children who have already lost so much, only to face a tragedy that threatens their most basic needs.
These children aren’t asking for luxuries. They need the simplest staples to survive:
Cornmeal
Salt
Sugar
Basic food supplies to keep their little bellies full.
Our immediate goal is to raise $5,000 to help restore their food supply and provide urgently needed school materials.
Through Heartsteps Foundation, I’ve had the privilege of supporting this remarkable school and the people who work tirelessly to give these children an education, nourishment, security, and, most importantly, hope for a better future.
Now they desperately need us.
No donation is too small. Whether you can contribute $5, $20, $50, or more, every dollar brings us closer to putting food on their tables.
PLEASE DONATE AND SHARE THIS APPEAL. Together, we can turn this tragedy into an opportunity for compassion and kindness.
If you would like to become more personally involved, there are wonderful opportunities to sponsor an individual child or support a specific project at the school. Please contact me directly, and I would be delighted to share more information.
These 502 beautiful children have already experienced more hardship than any child should ever know. They deserve the simple comfort of knowing there will be food tomorrow.
Please help us make that possible.
