Nepal Is in Crisis — Please Help Us Help Nepal

On August 26, catastrophic flooding tore through communities in Nepal, sweeping away homes, roads, bridges, and livelihoods and leaving thousands of families facing unimaginable loss.

The scale of the devastation is enormous. Rescue and recovery efforts continue, while survivors face the immediate need for shelter, food, clean water, medical care and basic necessities.

For Heartsteps Foundation, this tragedy is deeply personal.

Our relationship with Nepal began in 2019 and has grown through years of working directly with schools, villages, teachers, children and community leaders. In 2023, Heartsteps founder Kathleen McCabe trekked through communities in this hard-hit region, experiencing firsthand the extraordinary resilience, generosity and spirit of the Nepali people.

These are not simply places on a map to us. 

They are communities we know, people we care about and a country we love.

OUR RESPONSE

Heartsteps Foundation is joining with our trusted international partners, ELEVT in Canada and Sell for a Well in Australia, to raise funds for Nepal.

Our first priority is supporting the urgent relief and recovery efforts underway in Nepal.

But our commitment will not end when the immediate emergency is over.

As rescue efforts transition into recovery and the full extent of the damage becomes known, Heartsteps and our partners will identify opportunities to help rebuild and restore educational opportunities for children in affected communities.

Schools will need rebuilding. Classrooms will need to be furnished. Children will need the stability and hope that returning to school can provide.

We intend to be there.
